Cahlan Sharp spent his formative years in a small town in Nevada, coming to Provo after serving an LDS mission to Brazil and attending school at BYU. After some defining moments in his educational experience, he spent time teaching himself web development and started a career as a web developer. Soon after, he fell into the startup world and spent the next ten years starting, building, and failing at creating a successful and impactful business. In early 2013, after moving back to Utah following the failure of a Silicon Valley tech startup, he decided to start teaching part-time coding classes. These classes became DevMountain, the largest and highest rated coding school in the intermountain west, and one of the most successful coding schools in the country.
